Downloading Instructions
Below are the instructions for downloading and setting this great Eagle Globe and Anchor cursor on your computer. The EGA cursor is similar to the one used on this website. Follow these instructions carefully and if you have any problems setting this up, please e-mail us and we'll do what we can to help you out.
WINDOWS Downloading Steps
- Click on this link EGA.cur to download the cursor. You do not want to open the file, so if your computer tries to open it, right click on the link and select Save As or Save Target As
- When the SAVE dialog box displays, click on SAVE.
- When the Save Location dialog box appears click on the top down arrow to select the folder in which you are going to save this in. Select your C Drive (main hard drive).
- Once the files located on your C Drive are displayed in the window, scroll through them until you locate your MAIN windows folder. This folder (depending on the version on Widows you are running) should be named WINDOWS, WIN98, WINNT-or something similar.
- Double Click on your Main Windows folder to open it up and browse through those files.
- Once all of the files for the Windows folder are displayed, look for the folder named CURSORS.
- When located, Double Click the CURSORS folder to open it up.
- You can now click on SAVE in the lower right corner of the save dialog box.
- YOU HAVE SAVED THE CURSOR FILE TO YOUR HARD DRIVE, ON TO THE NEXT STEP.
MAKE IT WORK WITH WINDOWS
- Make sure all of the windows from the previous steps are closed.
- Click on START on your toolbar.
- Click on SETTINGS.
- Click on CONTROL PANEL.
- The Control Panel window will now open.
- Look for the Icon that says MOUSE.
- Double Click on the MOUSE Icon to open the properties up.
- Once the MOUSE properties window is open, click on the top tab that says POINTERS.
- Highlight the top NORMAL SELECT cursor (you can do all of the others this way too, but let's just do this one for now). There is no need to Double Click this area, just click once to highlight.
- Move your cursor to the BROWSE button and click on it.
- A Search dialog will now open up so that you can locate the EGA.cur file you previously saved. Just as you did when saving, locate the file by going to your C Drive, then the Windows folder, then the Cursor folder.
- Once you have the Cursor folder open, scroll through all of the cursor files to locate the file named EGA.cur and double click on it.
- Your main pointer is now the EGA cursor and you can now click on APPLY at the bottom of the window and use your brand new EGA cursor.
