Password Questions

Do I need to have a password to place an order?

No. You may place an order without setting up a password, but you will not be able to view your order history online.

If you have already set up a password, but would like to place an order without logging in you may do so, but please read this first.

I previously set up a password, but now your system says it does not recognize me.

With our new online ordering system we were not able to retain previous password information. If you had set up your password before October 4, 2004, you will need to create a new account. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause, but belive the benefits of our new system far outweigh the short term requirements.

If you believe your password was set up after this date please email the webmaster (web@grunt.com) to lookup your account. It is possible that your order was placed, but no account was set up.

I can't remember my password.

Remember: Passwords must contain at least 1 number and are case sensitive.
You can get a password reminder by going to our login page, typing in your email address and clicking the "reminder" button. It will ask you the validation question that you supplied when you created the account. After you answer the question, your password will be emailed to you. If you are having trouble with your validation question or still can't access your password, please email us (web@grunt.com) and we'll help you out.

I've been locked out of my account. Now what?

Remember: Passwords must contain at least 1 number and are case sensitive.
Lockout occurs after the 5th incorrect password attempt. The webmaster will automatically be notified and will review your account shortly. You will then be sent a new password which you can update by logging into your account and selecting "Update Shopper Info".
Note: Lockouts that occur on a weekend will be reset first thing Monday morning, but you can still place an order without logging in.

I am trying to place an order, but your system says there is already another user with my email address.

This usually occurs when you set up an account, but do not remember doing so, or a family member has set up an account using your email address. Try getting a password reminder.

If you'd like to place your order without logging in, you may leave the email address field blank, but you will not receive any order confirmation or shipping notifications regarding your order. And your order history may not be complete if you login to your account.

What payment methods does Sgt Grit accept?

Sgt Grit accepts Visa, Mastercard, and Discover on our website and over the phone. If you choose you can also mail in a check or money order, just print out our order form and send it in.

How long will it take my order to ship?

Almost every item on our website is in stock. If your item is in stock it will ship within 1 business day provided that the item does not already specify a time to ship (for example "Please allow 7-10 business days to receive") This will occur with customized items and drop-shipped items. Most orders take 3 to 5 business days to receive after being shipped. For orders that are shipped United States Postal Service, they can take up to 10 business days.

After placing your order online you will receive an order confirmation by email. This email shows whether or not your items are on backorder.

Can my order be shipped overnight or 2nd day?

We can ship any items that are in stock and not customized via UPS next business day or UPS 2nd Business Day. Visit our Shipping Methods page for details on express shipping.

Yes, Sgt Grit can handle bulk orders. We do offer discounts on bulk orders based on the quantity ordered. We can also do custom items for reunion groups, units, and other groups. Does Sgt Grit ship to APO/FPO addresses?

Yes, Sgt Grit ships to APO/FPO addresses. There is no additional shipping charges to have an item shipped to an APO/FPO address. Just type in FPO or APO where the city would go and AE, AA, etc. in the state field when ordering.

Does Sgt Grit ship internationally?

Yes, Sgt Grit ships to other countries APO/FPO addresses. There is an additional charge for shipments to international addresses but not for FPO/APO addresses. Shipping charges to international addresses are calculated by the weight of your package and the destination country. We will ship to the following countries: Austria, Australia, Bahamas, Belgium, Canada, Great Britain, Guam, Ireland, Japan, Lichtenstein, Luxemburg, Netherlands, New Zealand, Puerto Rico, Singapore, South Korea, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, and the Virgin Islands.

My shopping cart still shows empty after I have clicked on everything I want to order.

You need to accept "cookies" from Sgt Grit in order to store items in your shopping cart and complete your order. The first thing to try would be to go into your browser, select tools on the top menu bar, then internet options, click on the privacy tab, then the edit button. Type http://usmcshop.grunt.com in the box and click the allow button. Then click okay.

The second thing is to check the firewall software that you use on your computer (perhaps ZoneWorm or McAfee Personal Firewall) to make sure cookies are not blocked from Sgt Grit.

I can't find an item and I know you have it.

Our search feature can be used to locate your items. On the top of every shopping page is a "Search" box. Type in a keyword to locate items containing that word in the name or description, or type in the item number to locate a specific item. If you are using more than one word in your search, click on "Advanced Search" and type the words in the box that appears. It is helpful, but not necessary to choose departments or subdeparments in your search.

It is possible that the item you are looking for was mistakenly not put on the website or has been discontinued and is no longer available for sale. If you still can't find your item contact us by calling toll free 866-776-2607 or emailing the webmaster (web@grunt.com).

Who is Sgt Grit?

"In March of 1969, when I got to Danang, Vietnam, I was a green 19 year-old radio operator with the 11th Marines. About that time, the movie, 'True Grit' came out with John Wayne, who played the part of an Oklahoma sheriff. A born and bred Okie, naturally, I got stuck with the nickname 'Grit'. I'd like to say it was because of my John Wayne type persona, but unfortunately, it was only because I was from Oklahoma.

As I moved up in rank, Grit moved up with me and I became 'Sgt Grit'. I was in Vietnam from March, 1969 to October, 1970 and loved it so much, I even extended my tour. When I started this business in 1989, my wife suggested I take back the name, Sgt Grit."
